Hand out Steam keys without copying and pasting at midnight

If you have ever finished a stream and then spent twenty minutes DMing keys to people who may or may not reply, this is the version where that does not happen.

6 steps ~10 minBeginner Updated September 2026

How do you automatically send Steam keys to giveaway winners?

Load the keys into the prize before you start, collect an email at entry, and let the tool email each winner their own key when the draw finishes. In Kloot that is automatic prize delivery, which is on Creator and above — the free plan runs the draw but you hand the key over yourself.

What you’ll build

Keys loaded in advance, drawn winners emailed their own key automatically, and a record of who got which one.

Step by step

  1. 1

Get the keys into a list first

One key per line, in a plain text file. This is the step people skip and then regret, because pasting keys individually while a stream waits is exactly the situation this is meant to avoid. If the keys came from a bundle site, export rather than copying from the web page — bundle pages love to insert invisible characters that break a key nobody can then redeem.

Redeem one yourself first. A batch of keys for the wrong region is better discovered now than by your winner.

  2. 2

Create the giveaway and add the prize

Name the prize what the viewer will recognise — "Elden Ring (Steam key)" rather than "Prize 1". The name appears on the entry card, on the overlay and in the email, so it is the one string doing all the work.

  3. 3

Paste the keys into the prize

Each key is assigned to exactly one winner, so the number of keys you load is the number of winners you can draw. Automatic delivery by email is a Creator feature; on the free plan the draw still runs and you send the key yourself.

Load one more key than you need. A dead key is a quiet way to be wrong in public.

  4. 4

    Ask for an email, optionally

Delivery needs somewhere to send the key, so the entry form should collect one — as an optional field with a narrow explanation, not a requirement. A mandatory email costs you entries from exactly the casual viewers a giveaway is meant to reach. Winners who entered without one can still be given their key by hand.

  5. 5

Decide how many winners, and read this before choosing

One key each and several winners in a single draw is a bulk draw: the reel lands repeatedly and each winner gets their own key and claim link. Two limits apply. The live phone claim is not available on a bulk draw at all — Kloot refuses that combination at creation rather than half-supporting it — and rerolling one unclaimed slot inside a bulk draw is not built yet. If you want winners to claim on their phones, run separate draws.

  6. 6

Run it, then check the delivery panel

After the draw, the panel lists each winner against the key they were sent. That list is the thing to check before you close the laptop: anyone without an email shows there, so you can hand theirs over rather than discovering the gap when they ask three days later.

How a giveaway plays out, live

Setup is done — this is the five-beat run, start to finish. You fire two keys; the overlay and your audience do the rest.

  1. You fire it· step 1

    Launch the giveaway

Press Launch on your deck the moment the stream is hot. A prize card drops onto your overlay with a QR code and a short join code — entry is open.

    You: Press Launch
Overlay: Prize card + QR appear
    Viewers: Sees how to enter
  2. Entries pour in· step 2

    Viewers enter in one tap

They scan the QR or type the code at kloot.gg/join — no account, no chat command, any platform. The entry counter climbs live while you keep playing.

    You: Nothing — keep playing
    Overlay: Entry count rises
    Viewers: Scan / enter code
  3. You fire it· step 3

    Draw the winner

When the timer ends — or you decide the room is ready — press Draw. The spin wheel takes over the overlay and spins for real. This is the hype beat.

    You: Press Draw
    Overlay: Spin wheel runs
    Viewers: Watches the spin
  4. The payoff· step 4

    Winner revealed

The wheel lands and the winner’s name locks onto the card. If you pre-loaded prize codes, Kloot emails the winner their code the same second — no post-stream chasing.

    Overlay: Winner + prize shown
    Viewers: Winner gets an email
  5. You close it· step 5

    Deliver & clear

Press once to clear the card off screen and you’re back to the game. If the prize was brand-funded, screenshot the result and export the entry list as clean proof for the sponsor.

    You: Press to clear
    Overlay: Card clears
    Viewers: Prize already sent

When to drop a giveaway

A giveaway is a spike you control. The moments where it pays off most:

Hit a follower or sub goal

When: You just crossed a milestone and the chat is buzzing.

Why it works: Turns a number into a moment and rewards the exact people who got you there — the spike keeps them around.

Sponsor-funded drop

When: A brand puts up the prize as part of a deal.

Why it works: You run it, export the entry list as proof of a real activation, and the sponsor sees measurable reach — easy to renew.

Welcome a raid

When: A big raid just landed on your stream.

Why it works: One-tap entry with no signup converts drive-by viewers into followers before they wander off.

Charity or event stream

When: A fundraiser, tournament, or one-off event.

Why it works: A prize drives donations and entries; an Event Pass covers full Pro for the day without a subscription.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • ✕Copying keys off a bundle web page, which can carry invisible characters that make a key fail to redeem.
  • ✕Making the email required, which costs entries from the casual viewers a giveaway is meant to convert.
  • ✕Planning a bulk draw and a phone claim together — that combination is refused, so choose one.
  • ✕Loading exactly as many keys as winners, leaving no spare when one turns out to be dead.

Frequently asked

Can Kloot email Steam keys to winners automatically?

Yes, on Creator and above. Load the keys into the prize in advance and each drawn winner is emailed their own key. The free plan runs the same draw but leaves the delivery to you.

What happens to a winner who did not give an email?

They are drawn normally and appear in the delivery panel without an address, so you can pass the key over yourself. Nothing is lost — it just is not automatic for that person.

Can I give away 20 keys in one draw?

Yes. A bulk draw lands the reel repeatedly and gives each winner their own key and claim link — up to 50 winners on Creator and 500 on Pro. Note that the live phone claim window is not supported on a bulk draw and Kloot refuses that combination rather than half-supporting it.

What if a key turns out to be dead or region-locked?

Nothing in the tool can detect that, so redeem one from the batch yourself before the stream. Load a spare key so you can hand over a replacement without rerunning the draw.

Is the key ever shown on stream?

No. The overlay shows the winner and a prompt to claim, never the code itself — showing a key on stream means the fastest reader in chat gets it rather than the person who won.
