Where is the safe area on a vertical live stream?

Roughly the middle of the frame. On TikTok LIVE the top 12% holds the host and viewer row and the lower third or so holds comments and gifts, with hearts up the right side. Twitch draws chat over the lower part of its vertical view. These are estimates: no platform publishes exact sizes. Kloot keeps its tools inside the same bands this page shows.

How it works

  1. 1Pick the platform you stream vertical on: TikTok LIVE, Twitch, YouTube or a generic phone layout.
  2. 2Choose or drop a screenshot of your 9:16 scene. It stays in your browser.
  3. 3Anything important inside a shaded band will sit under the platform’s own buttons or chat. Move it toward the middle.

Questions people ask

Where do these numbers come from?
They are estimates, measured against each app’s live view and its own guidance (Twitch tells streamers to keep important visuals in the centre because it draws chat and controls over the vertical view). No platform publishes the exact pixel sizes, and the apps change them between versions, so treat the bands as a margin, not a ruler.
Is my screenshot uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is opened in this tab only and is gone when you close it. Nothing is sent to Kloot or anyone else.
Does TikTok LIVE Studio draw the same bands as the phone app?
Your viewers watch on the phone app, so the phone layout is the one that matters: the host and viewer row across the top, comments and gifts in the lower left, hearts up the right. The bands here are drawn for that view.
What size should a vertical overlay be?
1080×1920, the same as the vertical canvas on TikTok LIVE Studio, Twitch Dual Format with Aitum Vertical, and Whatnot. Twitch also accepts 720×1280. A Kloot overlay link added at either size lays itself out inside these bands on its own.
Can I change the bands?
Not on this page. In Kloot, the panel has the same profiles with two sliders for the bottom and right reserves, so you can match your own chat setting, and the overlay follows straight away.
