On a phone, the platform draws its own names, buttons and chat over your vertical video. An overlay built for 16:9 lands right under them. No platform publishes the sizes of these bands for live, so Kloot ships estimated bands for each one, shades them in the preview, and lets you move two of them with sliders.
On TikTok LIVE, comments and the gift bar cover roughly the bottom third, and hearts and gifts rise up the right side. On Twitch mobile, chat sits over the lower third. These are estimates, since no platform publishes live sizes. Kloot keeps every tool outside them and shades them in its preview.
What you’ll build
Your tools placed outside the areas TikTok, Twitch and YouTube cover on a phone.
Each band is a share of a 1080×1920 frame. They are Kloot’s estimates, built from vendor guidance, Twitch’s own description of its mobile chat and direct observation (Oct 2026). Treat them as starting points.
Don’t reuse TikTok’s published in-feed ad safe zones for LIVE. Those are for ads, not live video.
In the panel’s True preview, choose 9:16 or Both.
Tick Safe zones to shade the bands, then choose TikTok LIVE, Twitch (mobile), YouTube (vertical feed), Other / unknown or None.
What you'll see: Shaded bands over the 9:16 frame, and tools moving out of them.
Drag the Bottom and Right sliders to match your own stream. Your running overlay follows straight away.
Take a phone screenshot of your own live and compare it with the shading. The free safe-zone checker lets you drop it behind the bands.
Twitch Help: “Twitch overlays its own interface (chat and controls) on top of the mobile view, so keep important visuals in the center safe zone.” It also says viewers can show more, less or no chat, and to skip a chat overlay because Twitch adds chat to the vertical view itself.
Usually one of these.
No. No platform publishes pixel sizes for its live interface. Kloot’s bands are estimates from vendor guidance, Twitch’s description of its mobile chat and observation, so they ship as editable defaults with two sliders.
No. Safe zones apply only when the overlay is drawn in a tall frame. A 1920×1080 source renders exactly as before, with no bands and no moved tools.
No. The profiles, the shading and the two sliders are part of the Free plan, along with the 9:16 layout itself. Placing a tool yourself in 9:16 with Custom for 9:16 is Pro.
The same link lays itself out for 16:9 and 9:16. Detection, the 9:16 layout and the dual preview are Free.
