How to control your stream from your phone

Your Kloot deck runs in a browser — which means your phone or tablet is already a full control surface. Prop it beside your keyboard or hold it on the couch, tap a tool, and it fires onto the same overlay that’s in your OBS. No second monitor, no Stream Deck hardware, no alt-tabbing out of your game.

How do you control your stream from your phone?

Open Kloot's control panel in your phone's browser, sign in, and add the overlay URL as an OBS browser source once. Your saved tiles then fire giveaways, polls, lower thirds, alerts and effects onto the stream with a tap — no PC hotkeys, no hardware deck. It works from any phone or tablet.

The real overlay renderers — exactly what lands in your OBS

What you’ll build

Your phone or tablet running the full Kloot deck — every tool one tap away — firing onto the overlay already in your OBS.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open your Kloot deck on your phone

Sign in at kloot.gg in your phone or tablet’s browser and add it to your home screen. It installs as an app (a PWA) — the full deck, no app store, no download.

On iPhone: Share → “Add to Home Screen”. On Android: the browser menu → “Install app”.

  2. 2

It’s already paired to your overlay

The deck controls the same overlay URL that’s in OBS. There’s nothing to connect and no code to enter — if Kloot is in your scene, your phone is already the remote for it.

  3. 3

Tap a tool — it fires on stream

Every tool sits on your deck as a labeled button. Tap Poll, Giveaway, an alert, or a hype effect and it lands on your stream instantly — no mouse, no alt-tab.

Multi-action buttons chain several fires into one tap — e.g. a lower third + an effect together.

  4. 4

Go fullscreen for a bigger grid

Switch the deck to fullscreen for an edge-to-edge button grid. On a tablet in a stand it turns into a dedicated control surface, with your most-used tools one thumb away.

How the phone deck works, live

The deck is just a web app pointed at your overlay — so any phone or tablet becomes the remote. Here’s the whole flow.

  1. Set it beside you· step 1

Open the deck on your phone

Sign in at kloot.gg on your phone or tablet and add it to your home screen — it installs as an app (PWA). Prop it in a stand next to your keyboard, or hold it on the couch.

    You: Deck open on phone
  2. One tap· step 2

Tap a tool — it fires on stream

Every tool is a labeled button. Tap it and it lands on the overlay already in your OBS — instantly, with no alt-tab and no mouse.

    You: Tap a tool
    Overlay: Fires instantly
    Viewers: Sees it happen
  3. More room· step 3

Go fullscreen for a bigger grid

Switch the deck to fullscreen for an edge-to-edge button grid — ideal on a tablet propped beside you, so your most-used tools are one thumb away.

    You: Switch to fullscreen
  4. Anywhere· step 4

    Walk away from the PC

Because the deck is just a web app, you can fire polls, alerts, and a BRB screen from across the room — perfect for IRL, handheld, or console streams.

    You: Control from anywhere
    Overlay: Still fires

When the phone deck saves you

It’s not a downgrade from hardware — for a lot of setups it’s the only control surface that makes sense:

No second monitor

When: You game full-screen on a single display.

Why it works: No alt-tabbing out of the game to fire a tool — your whole deck lives on the phone beside you.

Console or handheld

When: You’re on the couch with a controller, not a keyboard.

Why it works: The phone is your only practical control surface — tap tools without touching a PC.

IRL & on the move

When: IRL streams, cooking, events, moving around.

Why it works: Fire alerts, polls, and a BRB screen from your pocket anywhere the signal reaches.

Instead of a Stream Deck

When: You’d rather not buy dedicated hardware.

Why it works: The same button-deck experience on a device you already own — free, on every plan.

What one tap fires

Tap “Poll” — the room votes

Open a vote from the couch, mid-match, controller still in hand.

One thumb-tap on the deck and the question lands on your overlay with a QR + join code. You never touch the PC — the tally climbs while you keep playing.

Tap “Launch” — entries pour in

Catch the moment a raid lands — even if you’re nowhere near the PC.

A raid hits while you’re on the couch. Tap Launch and the prize card is live before the new viewers wander off; tap Draw when the room is ready.

Tap “Sponsor” — the read lands on cue

Fire the code callout the second you say the brand’s name.

IRL or at a desk, the read happens when you speak — not when a timer decides. Tap the key mid-sentence and the code slams center screen, perfectly timed.

One tap, exactly on the read

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Letting the phone screen sleep mid-stream — keep the deck in the foreground or turn on “stay awake” so a tap is always one touch away.
  • Trying to add a second OBS browser source “for the phone”. There’s nothing to add — the phone drives the overlay you already have.
  • Burying your clutch tools three scrolls deep — pin your most-used keys to the top rows so the money tap is always thumb-distance away.

Frequently asked

Do I need a Stream Deck or any extra hardware?

No. Your phone or tablet is the deck. Kloot runs in the browser, so any device you already own becomes a full control surface with every tool on it — no hardware to buy.

Is it a real app?

It installs as a PWA — add it to your home screen and it opens full-screen like a native app, with no app-store download. You can also just use it in the browser.

Does my phone need to be on the same Wi-Fi as my PC?

No. The deck talks to your overlay through Kloot, so it works over any internet connection — even mobile data. Handy for IRL streams away from home.

Can I control the stream while I’m away from my PC?

Yes. As long as your phone has a connection you can fire polls, alerts, a BRB screen, and effects from anywhere — the couch, another room, or out in the field.

Does it work with OBS, Streamlabs, or my streaming app?

Yes. The deck fires the Kloot overlay, which lives in a single browser source — so any streaming software that supports browser sources (OBS, Streamlabs, and the rest) works the same. Your phone never talks to OBS directly; it talks to the overlay.

Which plan includes the mobile deck?

Every plan, including Free. The deck is how you control Kloot on any device — the plan only changes which tools you can put on it.
