A Dark Souls III death counter, per boss

Dark Souls III is the game the whole death-counter genre is named after, and it is the one where a single total is least useful — nobody remembers whether the number went up at Pontiff or at the Dancer. Name each boss as a segment and the overlay answers that on its own.

How do you track Dark Souls 3 deaths per boss on stream?

Use a Kloot counter with segments: set the personal best to Fewest, turn on the Segment and PB lines, and press “Next segment” with the boss name each time you reach one. The overlay then reads “Pontiff Sulyvahn 12 · PB 8”, and each boss keeps its own history.

How to set it up for Dark Souls III

All-time beside the segment is the number people quote back at you weeks later. If you are running a single playthrough rather than a series, drop Tonight and keep the overlay to two lines.

Run it as a collection

Deaths tell chat how hard this fight is. Bosses beaten and your tries on a no-hit tell them how the run is going. Stack all three in one corner and run them from one panel.

Nothing here loads itself. Kloot does not read your game — there is no detection and no preset pack. This list is here so you know what is coming; you type the boss name when you reach it, which is also why it works on console, in a mod and after any patch.

Dark Souls III counters — frequently asked

Does Kloot read the game’s death count?

No. Nothing reads your game — you, your mod or a Stream Deck key press the button. That is why it survives patches, works on console and works in a randomiser.

Can I keep a separate count for a no-hit run?

Yes — that is a different counting mode rather than a different counter. Streak counts up while you are clean and banks your best run when you press reset on the hit.

How many counters can I run at once?

Up to five on Creator and ten on Pro, one live at a time on Free. A deaths counter and a bonfire-rest counter side by side is two of your slots.

Can I bump it without alt-tabbing?

Yes, on every plan. Open your own Kloot panel on your phone and tap +1 — the game keeps focus the whole time.
