Death #100 is a moment, and chat wants to see it land. The problem with most celebration effects is that they explode across the middle of the screen right when you need to see the fight. Kloot milestones are built the other way round: they play inside the counter’s own box, along the bottom edge of the frame, or as a pulse on your Borders — and the play area is never drawn over. Each milestone plays once per run, so a miscount that goes back and forth across 50 does not replay it.
In Kloot (Creator or Pro), open the counter, go to Milestones and turn it on. Set Every to 10, add values like 50 and 100 under Also at, and pick an effect: Grow, Embers, Ribbon or Border. Each milestone plays once per run, inside the counter or on the frame edge, never over your game.
What you’ll build
A death counter that celebrates every 10 deaths and your big numbers, once each, without ever covering the game.
Open your Deaths (or Kills) counter in the Counters tool and scroll to Milestones. Turn it on — it starts at every 10 with Grow, which you can change.
Every sets a repeating step: 10 fires at 10, 20, 30 and so on. Also at takes up to ten exact values for the big ones — 50, 100, 666. Use either, or both.
Low-death runs? Every 5 keeps the moments coming. A marathon? Leave Every blank and pick three big numbers under Also at.
Grow swells the counter from its own corner for a moment. Embers sends sparks up inside the counter’s box. Ribbon slides a one-line banner along the bottom edge of the frame for about four seconds. Border makes your Borders frame glow once — it needs a Border on stream, because the counter itself draws nothing for that one.
Pick Ribbon for the numbers you want chat to notice, and Grow for the small steps.
Using segments per boss? Turn on Boss card and a short “Now · Malenia” card plays inside the counter when you move to the next segment. Under Style, the Heat ramp makes the number warm up as the next milestone gets close.
Press +1 as usual. A milestone plays the first time the count climbs past it, and going down and back up again does not replay it. Press Reset between runs and the whole ladder is ready to play again.
Once it’s built, running a counter is four keys — show it, bump it, correct it, reset it. Here’s the whole loop, and what each side sees.
Tap the Show/Hide key when the session starts. The counter fades into its corner at the starting value — label above, number below, styled the way you built it.
A kill lands, a win banks, chat loses a bet — you press +1 and the number pulses with a flash of color. You are the source of truth, so it works in every game ever made and never breaks on a patch.
Double-tapped, or counted one that didn’t count? Press −1 and it steps back with a red flash. No menus, no editing mid-game — the correction is one key, same as the bump.
Match over — press Reset and the counter snaps back to its starting value for the next round. Leave it on screen between games or toggle it off; the counter keeps its style and corner for next stream.
Anything with a number worth watching climb. The counters that earn their corner:
When: Shooters, battle royales, ranked grinds — any stream where tonight has a score.
Why it works: A running kill or win count gives the whole session a scoreboard. Viewers who join at hour three instantly know how it’s going.
When: Souls-likes, roguelikes, rage games — anywhere chat is counting your failures anyway.
Why it works: It’s the chat-favorite running joke: every death bumps the number, and the number becomes the story of the stream. Own the bit before chat does.
When: Push-ups per death, jump-scare tallies, “every time I say the word” counters.
Why it works: The challenge only works if the count is public and live. One key per event keeps it honest — and the climbing number is the content.
When: Sub goals, donation milestones, “100 wins this month” arcs.
Why it works: Set a goal and the counter shows “86 / 100” with a celebration when it crosses the line — so the whole room is watching the same finish line.
Wins, deaths, a huge challenge number, or a goal with a finish line — every preview below is the real overlay renderer, ticking live in your colors.
The classic session tracker: green number, quiet label, pulse on every bump.
Deshawn runs ranked nights with “Wins” top-left all session. Every victory is one press of +1 — and clips of the win always have the score in frame.
One +1 key bumps it liveRed accent, flash animation — the number chat came to watch climb.
MaraPlays keeps a “Deaths” counter through every Souls run. Chat spams the skull each time it flashes, and the final number is the stream title tomorrow.
Bump it from your phone mid-rageNumber size up to 120px, label below — readable from a phone stream at arm’s length.
“Push-ups” at 72px for a fitness-forfeit stream: Kai taps +1 as each rep lands, and the huge number is legible even on the IRL cam.
Reset key clears it for round twoSet a target and the counter shows “value / goal” — with a celebration when it crosses.
A subathon with “New subs 96 / 100” on screen: Tasha bumps it as subs land, and the confetti burst fires itself the moment the count reaches the goal.
Celebration fires on the goal — no extra keyNo. Grow and Embers stay inside the counter’s own box, the ribbon runs in a thin band along the bottom edge of the frame, and Border only pulses your Borders frame. Nothing is drawn over the play area.
Each milestone plays once per run on purpose. Going down to 49 and back to 50 does not replay it, so a fix never looks like a second celebration. Reset starts a new run.
The Border effect pulses a Borders frame that is already on stream. Turn on a Border from the Borders tool first, or pick Grow, Embers or Ribbon instead.
Free keeps one goal with a pulse or confetti when the counter reaches it, set under Goal. The milestone ladder, the four effects and the boss card are part of Creator ($15/mo) and Pro ($25/mo).
Milestones on Creator: every 10 or the numbers you pick, once per run, drawn inside the counter or on the frame edge.
