A tally counter that draws tally marks
Most "tally counters" show you a digit. This one draws the marks, five to a gate, the way you would on paper. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

Tally marks are one of the six ways Kloot can draw a number.
What is a tally counter?
A counter that records each count as a mark rather than a digit, grouped in fives so a total can be read at a glance. This page draws them for real — press + and a mark appears, with every fifth one closing the gate. Tally marks are one of six ways Kloot can draw a number on a live overlay.
How it works
- 1Name what you are tallying, or leave it as it is.
- 2Press + for each one. Every fifth mark closes the gate, so you can read the total in groups of five.
- 3Press − to take one back, or Reset to clear the sheet.
Questions people ask
- Why marks instead of a number?
- Because a tally is read at a glance and a digit is read carefully. When someone is watching over your shoulder — an audience, a class, a clipboard count — marks show progress rather than a value that has to be compared with the last one you remember.
- How high does it go before it gets unreadable?
- Comfortably into the dozens. Past that the gates start wrapping, which is the honest answer to why Kloot also ships five other number styles — an odometer, LCD digits, zero-padded, emoji icons and a plain number.
- Is anything saved?
- No. The tally lives in this browser tab. There is no account, nothing is uploaded, and a refresh starts a clean sheet.
- Can I put tally marks on my stream?
- Yes — tally is a number style on a Kloot counter, available on Creator and Pro. The count lives on your account and you bump it from a deck key or your phone.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. The buttons are sized for a thumb and nothing here needs a keyboard, though + and − work if you have one.
The same counter, on your overlay
This one lives in a browser tab. Kloot’s lives on your stream.
One OBS browser source, bumped from your deck or your phone without alt-tabbing. Free runs one counter live; build up to five. Here are three of the looks it ships with — all drawn by the component below, which is the same one your overlay would use.
